Welcome to The Factory Engineer blog. My name is John and I felt a calling to provide my perspectives in manufacturing. I plan to discuss topics such as personal development, leading people, lean manufacturing, manufacturing quality, books I've read and other topics. My career has been in manufacturing, quality, product safety, and design engineering and most recently quality management. I went to college to be an automotive engineer and discovered I didn't want to move to where the cars were built, so I went into a manufacturing role in other industries. After several years, I went back to school and obtained a masters in project management as it felt like a natural addition to the work I was doing in manufacturing. My time in manufacturing was also heavily focused on new product development and bringing that into the manufacturing environment.
On the home front, I am a serial hobbyist and enjoy working on vehicles, woodworking, metalworking, reading books, and spending time with family.
As I work towards building out this blog, I would love to hear from my readers through my social media channels as I build those out as well. Thank you for visiting and feel free to contact me on topics that interest you.
You are welcome to keep coming back here to see new content. However, a better option is to subscribe to my newsletter! You will get updates on new posts and special content that is only available to my subscribers.
